High-chromium cast iron is a kind of high-hardness, high-strength, high-alloy white cast iron with wear resistance and corrosion resistance. As a wear-resistant casting, the hardness of high-chromium cast iron is generally above hrc45, and the tensile strength is 650--850mpa. However, this material is hard and brittle, and the cutting state is extremely unstable, so it is difficult to cut.

Dry cutting.
When rough turning, take αp =6~10 mm; cutting length Fr=0.25-0.8mm/r; cutting speed v=85m/min; αp=1~3 mm when semi-finishing; f=0.2~0.4 mm/ r; ap≤1 mm during finishing; f≤0.2mm/r; cutting line speed v=135m/min, tool durability: 3 hours/edge! The blade can be rotated 8 times to 12 times, and one blade can be used for three shifts. It can be seen that the use cost of BN-S20 material tools has great advantages compared with other tool grades.
Using BN-K1 material and BN-S20 material for rough turning of high-chromium cast iron/high-manganese steel will not chip or break. Compared with cemented carbide and ceramic tools, it is more impact-resistant and has more stable cutting performance. Ideal machining tool for chromium cast iron/high manganese steel.
